Plummer, Swann Too Much for St. Thomas More

Norman Plummer and Isaiah Swann combined for 51 points to help Hargrave Military Academy subdue St. Thomas More, 85-80 on Friday night at the War on the Shore.
Swann and Plummer went to work early, helping the Tigers build a 40-20 lead late in the first half.

But Jere Quinn's Chancellors didn't quit, they responded by ending the half on a resounding 20-9 run and trailed 49-40 at the break.
A 10-2 Hargrave run out of the second half gate put the Chancellors down 59-42, but St. Thomas More again fought back.
Riding the stellar second half play of Ben Farmer (Marist), the Chancellors sliced the deficit to 80-75. St. Thomas More tightened up on defense, forcing Swann to take a difficult pull-up jumper on the baseline as the shot clock ran toward zero.
Plummer, as was his wont all game long, somehow found the loose ball and stuck it back for an 82-75 lead with 2:40 remaining. That effectively ended St. Thomas More's bid for the comeback.
Plummer, who signed with Dayton, finished with 27 points (10/12 FGs) and 10 rebounds. Many of Swann's 24 points came from the foul line, where he converted 10 of 13 attempts on the evening. Louisville bound Lorenzo Wade added 11 points and USC signee Emanuel Willis added eight points.
After picking up a technicnal foul for slapping the backboard after a dunk in the first half, super soph Rob Thomas responded in a big way for the Chancellors. He finished on the offensive glass and in transition for St. Thomas More, leading all scorers with 29 points (14/19 FGs). Swingman Ryan Johnson added 17 points and Mercer bound power forward/center Sam Dolan notched 12 points and nine rebounds in the loss.
