Player of the Year Still Open

Ben Rhoda, a 6-3 shooting guard from Centreville High School in Dayton, Ohio, thought his basketball and professional career were set when he committed to Air Force. That changed in May when the Academy denied him admission after he failed a required physical because of a ninth-grade illness, according to the Dayton Daily News.
Rhoda is now open. He averaged 27 points a game as a senior and was named the Dayton-area's player of the year. He also was named to the all-state second team. Rhoda holds Centreville's all-time scoring record with 1,569 points and the single mark with 47.
