Playaz Win Jam Fest Title

For the second straight weekend, the Playaz Basketball Club of New Jersey won a major spring tournament.
The Playaz copped the National Division title at this past weekend's Providence Spring Jam Fest Tournament, defeating the Jersey City Boys Club, 81-57, in the championship game.

Sean Singletary and David McClure continued their excellent spring play for the Playaz. Just a week after playing key roles in the Playaz's championship run at the Spring Fling, the duo combined to knock out Jersey City.
Singletary, a 5-11 junior point guard from Penn Charter H.S. in Philadelphia, led the Playaz with 24 points in the title game win. He was MVP of the Playaz Spring Fling a week earlier.
McClure, a workmanlike 6-6 forward from Trinity Catholic H.S. in Stamford, Conn., chipped in 18 points in the title game.
Both players were also key in the Playaz 71-64 victory over Connecticut Select in the semifinal round. Singletary scored 26 points while McClure had 17 in that game.
The Playaz next head down to Houston, Tex., to play in the Superstars Texas Classic, which should feature many of the top adidas traveling teams.
Rivalshoops.com plans to have some coverage from that event, so stay tuned!
