Plaisted To Pick From Three

Trent Plaisted, a 6-foot-10, 215-pound forward from Clark High School in San
Antonio, originally planned on taking four official visits before making a

decision. However, recent events will preclude him from sticking to the
initial plan. He will stay at home this weekend and will now choose from a
final three.
"Trent is down to three schools: Florida State, BYU, and Stanford," said Clark
High School head coach Kevin Hamilton. "Washington State is out of the picture
and he's cancelled his trip - he was going to go this weekend."
The elimination of Washington State was closely related to the recent verbal
commitment of Chris Henry out of Mater Dei High School in California.
"Washington State offered five kids four spots," said Hamilton. "And all four
have been filled."
Having already taken visits to Florida State and Stanford, the last trip
Plaisted will take will be to BYU.
"He goes to BYU next weekend," said Hamilton. "Then he will have made all his
trips, and they've all already come in to see him here. After that, I don't
know how long it will take, but he should be ready to make a decision."
A left-handed big man who can score either inside or out, Plaisted is a member
of the Church of Latter Day Saints, and a two-year mission may be a
possibility. This however will not factor into his decision, according to
Plaisted, who will instead be more concerned about immediate playing time and
how he fits into the school's system.
