Pigford Hoping To Bounce Back

C.J. Pigford, a 6-7, 225 pound sophomore power forward from Lon Morris J.C. in Jacksonville, Tex., is hoping to bounce back on to the Division I landscape next fall.
Pigford transferred into Lon Morris after spending his freshman year at Virginia Tech in 2001-2002.

Pigford and the Bearcats have gotten off to a strong start in 2002-2003. Pigford has averaged 18 points per game as Lon Morris, the defending Region 14 Champions, have streaked out to a 3-0 start.
According to Lon Morris Asst. Coach Dale Dotson, Pigford visited Washington State from Oct. 18-20. He is also being courted by Tulsa, Louisiana-Lafayette, Cleveland State and Central Florida this fall, but is expected to sign in the spring.
A native of Riegelwood, N.C., Pigford appeared in 15 games for the Hokies last season. He averaged roughly five minutes per contest, but scored just one point per outing.
He should play a ton of minutes and pile up good numbers this winter on a loaded Lon Morris squad, and you can count on Rivalshoops.com to keep you posted on his play and recruitment throughout the season. Stay tuned!
