Pickett goes with his gut

Four-star junior college prospect Rico Pickett of Miami Dade Community College got that gut feeling this week and has signed a Letter of Intent with the school he felt wanted him the most.
Pickett, a 6-foot-4, 170-pound combo guard, was involved with Connecticut, Florida and Manhattan. In the end, he felt that Manhattan was the school that wanted him the most.

"That is exactly it," said Pickett when asked if Manhattan was the school most serious about him. "Florida was pretty serious, but Manhattan is a situation where I can come in and play right off the bat and be the leader of the team. They want to build the team around me as their point guard."
Pickett also noted the strong relationship he built with the Manhattan coaching staff.
"Right from the start I loved the coaching staff," he said. "It is the best fit for me and the best opportunity for me to showcase my skills."
Pickett, who played his freshman year at Alabama before transferring to Miami Dade, averaged 25 points, seven rebounds and seven assists per game as a sophomore.
