PF Narrows Field To Five

Nick Fazekas, a finesse 6-11, 195 pound power forward/center from Ralston Valley H.S. in Arvada, Colo., has narrowed his focus to roughly five colleges this summer.
Fazekas told Rivalshoops.com that he is pretty much down to Utah, Marquette, Fresno State, Kansas State and California. He said that all five of those programs have offered, and that they are all are on a pretty even par right now.

Although he has yet to pledge any official visits, Fazekas and his family have penciled in Utah for an in-home visit presentation on Sept. 12. He plans on setting up other in-homes in the weeks to come.
Fazekas plans on making a fall decision, and he said that the chance to play immediately as a freshman will factor into his thought process.
This past season at Ralston Valley, Fazekas averaged 24 points, eight rebounds, three assists and four blocks per contest.
Rivalshoops had a chance to catch Fazekas on the spring and summer circuit with the Colorado Express Black squad, and his skill level facing the basket jumped out at us quite a bit.
While he doesn't really have a finely developed game with his back to the basket, Fazekas showed that he can put the ball on the deck a bit and face up capably out to 15 feet. Perhaps with added strength and size, Nick will develop more of a penchant for mixing it up in the paint. So while he possesses the height of a center, his game suggests that he could play the forward slot at the Division I level.
Nick said he is working hard in the weight room this summer and fall so that he can add some bulk to his frame. He begins school on Wednesday, Aug. 14.
In the classroom, Fazekas said he carries a 2.4 GPA, and has already tallied an 18 on the ACT.
He kicked off a busy summer in late June at the U.S. Youth Olympic Development Festival, where he played for the West squad. After that, he attended the Nike All-American Camp, the second session of the West Coast All-Star Camp, the adidas Big Time Tournament and the Best of the Summer Tournament.
We will keep you posted on Fazekas' situation in the weeks to come, so stay tuned.
