Perez scoring big in Florida

Sophomore guard Chris Perez of Oldsmar Christian (Fla.) High School is scorching the nets this season, and several high-major schools have been watching him put up his big numbers.
Last week, Perez, 6-foot-3, 195-pounds, put up 41 and 35 points in consecutive games to push his scoring average to 32 points per game.

Ole Miss and Tennessee Tech have already put forth offers, and Auburn, Pittsburgh, Missouri and Georgia Tech have all watched him play this season.
A physical guard, Perez also uses his understanding of the game to light up the score board according to Kenny Gillion of Team Breakdown.
"Chris is not overly athletic in terms of leaping and an explosive first step, but his strength and understanding of the game allow him to be very effective," said Gillion. "He is an excellent scorer and can handle the ball from the two guard spot. He is one of the better prospects in the 2009 class and always elevates his game against top competition."
