Perez filling it up

Kenny Boynton isn't the only big time scorer in the state of Florida. 2009 prospect Chris Perez of Oldsmar (Fla.) Christian High School is averaging a whopping 30.8 points per game.
In his last three outings, the 6-foot-4, 195-pound shooting guard has tallied 52, 44 and 38 points. A smooth shooting touch and a crafty feel for the game are the secrets to Perez' scoring success.

"Chris is a very good shooter and a crafty scorer," said Oldsmar coach Ryan Pannone. "He has a fantastic midrange game with a deadly floater. Defensively he does a nice job fighting through screens."
With offers in hand from Ole Miss, Tennessee Tech and Delaware, Perez has a number of other schools tracking him closely.
"Florida State has watched him three times this year," said Pannone. "Pittsburgh is supposed to come in on Tuesday. Missouri is also coming in this week. Gonzaga, Butler and Texas A&M are also recruiting him."
Perez was the top scorer for Team Breakdown 16-under squad last summer before missing the end of the summer with an injury. This summer he will join Boynton and Brandon Knight in the backcourt for the 17-under squad.
