Peggau pegged for CAA

Rodriguo Peggau, a 6-foot-7, 235-pound power forward from the Patterson School in Lenoir, N.C., is taking his game to the Colonial Athletic Association.
Peggau verbally committed to James Madison on Friday, according to his coach Chris Chaney.

"He's really happy with his decision," Chaney said. "It is really close to where he lived in Maryland and he was really impressed with the staff there. I think it is a good decision for him."
Peggau, a Brazilian native, is a big bodied banger that has never shied away from putting his body on opponents inside the paint. Chaney said he believes Dean Keener and staff reeled in a good one.
"There is no doubt about that. I think if he had decided to wait then he would have been a high-major guy because there just aren't that many good big men out there," Chaney said. "So for them to pull this off and get him is a really good thing for (JMU)."
Peggau made only one official visit and that was to James Madison. He also considered Hawaii and George Mason, Chaney said.
"I think after people had a chance to see him with us in Boston (for the National Prep Showcase), his recruitment would have really blown up," Chaney said.
