Patterson inks with St. John’s

It didn't take long for Avery Patterson to make a decision about his future. After taking an official visit to St. John's last weekend, the 6-foot-4, 200-pound shooting guard/small forward from Iowa Western Community College has signed a Letter-of-Intent with the Red Storm.
"Yes, Avery did give a commitment to St. John's," said Iowa Western head coach Jim Morris. "He made the decision when he retuned home from his visit on Sunday. Avery just loved everything about the visit and enjoyed spending time with the coaching staff. He has already signed and faxed in his Letter-of-Intent.

"St. John's had been recruiting Avery for a long time, so he feels very good about his decision," he added. "During his official visit, he was able to play with some of the players, which is something he enjoyed. I believe that the coaching staff plans to play Avery at the shooting guard position."
Aside from St. John's, Patterson was receiving a great deal of interest from the likes of Cincinnati, Kansas, Miami-FL, Michigan State, Mississippi State, Wyoming and others.
Prior to giving a commitment to the Red Storm, Patterson had planned to officially visit Miami-FL and Cincinnati. The 6-foot-4, 200-pound shooting guard/small forward has previously taken a visit to Wyoming.
