Parmer Headed To The Big East

Jeffrey Parmer, a skilled 6-7, 225 pound power/combo forward from Niagara Falls (NY) High School has committed to the Big East's Providence College, according to today's Providence Journal.
Last month Parmer told RivalsHoops.com's reporter Russ Blake that West Virginia was in the lead for his services and had been scheduled to visit the Mountaineers this past weekend. But that was called off after he made his decision. Parmer told reporter Kevin McNamara, "Providence and West Virginia were the only schools I really thought about."

Parmer averaged 12 points, 10 rebounds, four assists, one steal and three blocks per game as a junior and 14 points and 10 rebounds as a sophomore. He's led Niagara Falls to a 52-2 record the last two seasons.
This summer, Parmer played with Mickey Walker's Donyell Marshall Foundation program at the Big Time Tournament in Las Vegas. He suited up for the Rochester Area Players (RAP) at the AAU Nationals in Florida. He also participated at the adidas ABCD Camp in New Jersey.
Parmer is a skilled big man who does not wow you with speed or athleticism, but is a deceptive athlete who demonstrated decent face up skills this past summer. He has a study frame with which to add size, though he cuurently lacks solid muscle tone. A lefty with a knack for making finesse finishes in close, Parmer showed that he can finish with either hand.
Thanks to DFP for the tip.
