Parmer a Finesse Big Man

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA -- Jeffrey Parmer, a finesse 6-7, 225 pound power forward from Niagara Falls H.S. in Niagara Falls, N.Y., has two schools atop his list of colleges this summer.
Parmer likes Providence and West Virginia the most at this juncture, and he said that both Big East programs have offered him scholarships to boot. He has already unofficially visited Providence.

He's also received offers from St. Bonaventure and St. Joe's in the Atlantic 10, and has interest from Pittsburgh, Marquette and Canisius.
Parmer is playing here at the adidas Big Time Tournament with Mickey Walker's Donyell Marshall Foundation program. Last night in an incredible comeback victory over the Pump N Run All-Stars, Parmer scored 11 points to help the upstate New York based squad emerge victorious.
While he has a solid foundation from a physical standpoint, Parmer will need to work on his toning and conditioning when he gets to the Division I level. He's got very soft touch on his shots around the basket, and has reliable range out to about 15 feet. The lefty big man has the body of a four, and will probably be a skilled power/combination forward in college.
This past season at Niagara Falls, Parmer averaged 12 points, 10 rebounds, four assists, one steal and three blocks per game. He said he has an 87 average in the classroom but will need to boost his SAT score in order to qualify academically.
Following the ABCD Camp and the Big Time, Parmer plans on heading down to Florida to play in the AAU Nationals with the Rochester Area Players (RAP). Mike Sullivan will keep you posted on his play from there, so keep it here for the best coverage on the Class of 2003.
