Parker sits atop new Rivals150 ranking

Thenation'sNos.2and3players,respectively,arepowerforwardJuliusRandlefromPlano(Texas)Prestonwoodand6-foot-5pointguardAndrewHarrisonofFortBend(Texas)Travis.Andbothmadestrongplaysforthetopspotinthepost-spring/pre-Julyrankings,whichwerereleasedTuesday.

RandlehasbeendominantinNike'sEliteYouthBasketballLeagueandwasexcellentwiththe18-and-undernationalteam.Harrisonhasbeenequallyimpressivethankstohisvision,sizeandabilitytoruntheshow.

StillParker-whoisinLithuaniacompetingwithUSABasketball'snational17-and-underteam-remainsatopthe2013rankingsbecauseofhisall-aroundskillandversatilityrolledintoa6-foot-8package.

"Heknowsthathehasalotofworkandhehasatargetonhisback,"Parker'sfather,Sonny,toldRivals.comafterhearingthenewshissonwillretaintheNo.1ranking."But,hesays,'DadIknowtheyarecomingatmesoI'mcomingatthemtoo.'"

Askilledwingplayerwhoneverseemstobeinarush,Parkerisalsocapableofplayingasahighpostfour-manwhocanpickdefensesapartwithpassingordrivestothehoop.Duringthespringandearlysummer,though,Parkerhasn'tshottheballquiteaswellasinthepastandit'ssomethinghe'slookingforwardtoaddressingoncehehassomedowntime.

Ontheschoolfront,Parkerhassofardeclinedtolisthistopschools.MichiganState,Illinios.Duke,NorthCarolina,Kentucky,Kansas,OhioState,BYU,TexasA&M,DePaul,Missouri,Northwesternandmanyothersarepursuinghim.

"Mysonstillwatchescartoonsandhe'sstillakidsoIdon'twanthimoverlybombardedwiththerecruitment,"hisfathersaid."Thecoacheshavetocallmeormywifeiftheywanttocallandtalktohim;we'llsetup.

"Afterthesummerhe'sprobablygoingtonarrowitdowntofive.Attheendhe'llnarrowitdownandtakehisvisits.FromwhatI'mhearingfromhismother,ifhe'sstillnotfeelingitwithadecisioninthefall,thenhecouldwaituntilthespring."
