Arkansas: “It was good. It was the weekend that they played Alabama in football. It was pretty packed. It didn’t go how they wanted it to go, but it was a good game and I liked it. The visit was cool and they had a good practice.”
Texas A&M: “The visit was good. It was the weekend that they played Appalachian State (in football), so it was an upset game and Appalachian State ended up winning, but I liked it. The practice was good and coach Buzz (Williams) is an awesome guy. I love him.”
LSU: “It (his visit) was awesome. It was probably one of my favorites so far. The coaches were so cool and the campus was awesome. The Mike the Tiger exhibit was awesome and I even got to try some jambalaya while I was down there, and that’s some of the best food I’ve had in my life.”
Florida: “I haven’t really gotten to know them very much since it’s so recent, but obviously I know coach (Carlin) Hartman over there, that’s the guy who offered me. The head coach was on the call as well. I know coach Hartman, and he recruited my brother (Michael Jefferson) when he was a sophomore, so I know he’s good people. He told me they’ve got a really good campus and really I think they’ve always been pretty decent.”
Texas Tech: “I love how coach (Mark) Adams makes everyone play defense, I really like his style. I really like his son, Luke Adams, he’s really cool, too. That’s the guy I really call the most. I haven’t gotten to go on a visit yet, but they’re good people and have always treated me well, so I just can’t wait to get out there on a visit and meet them face to face.”
Oklahoma State: “I like coach (Mike) Boynton. He recruited my brother as well when he was younger so I’ve known him for a while. He’s a good guy and I like what he’s doing up there. He’s a very good coach and a very cool coach. I like the campus. I saw it when I was with my brother. I like the arena, too, and I like their style, so I know Oklahoma State is a good school.”
Other programs involved without an offer: “I would say Michigan State, I’ve been talking to them very heavily. Houston, coach (Kellen) Sampson is a cool guy, Kentucky, Texas and Oklahoma. Gonzaga is another one. Really, I keep in touch with all of them, but I have to call them first.”
Visits: “I’ve already taken four visits. I took one to Arkansas, Texas A&M, LSU and SMU. I definitely want to catch a game at Texas Tech. I think I’m going to the game when they play either Kansas or Texas at home. I know I’m going to try to get a visit to Florida because I recently got that offer and I want to go out there and see the campus. There’s a lot of places that I want to go and catch a game, and get my visits in early.”

RIVALS' REACTION
SMU is another program that has offered Jefferson and is in the mix early on. He’s taking a bunch of visits and we’ll get a much clearer picture of his top schools next year when he can start taking official visits.
Right now, it seems like there’s a lot of Big 12 and SEC interest early on, with wildcards being Michigan State and Gonzaga.
