Paris switches coasts

It didn't take three-star point guard Biko Paris long to find a new college. Once destined for the west coast, the 6-foot-2, 204-pound point guard from Cypress Community Christian is headed for thee east coast.
Once a Southern Cal commitment, Paris backed out of that commitment last week.

"It just didn't feel like the right fit," said Paris. "There was a lot of stuff going on and they are getting a lot of guards. That doesn't matter, because I'm not afraid to compete. It just seemed like I was getting some different stories."
So in comes Boston College to evaluate Paris' teammate Steve Tchiengang, a four-star prospect out of the 2008 class, and by the next weekend Paris is an Eagle.
"Coach Duquette came up to me after practice and congratulated me on my USC commitment," he said. "I told him I wasn't committed there anymore. They quickly got a visit set up for this weekend.
"I didn't know for sure that I would commit on the visit, but the atmosphere there was great. I know some of the players coming in, and I really like the coaching staff. It is a good place to be, and they win a lot."
Boston College was the first school to pursue Paris after his decommitment and sealed the deal before anyone else contacted him.
Paris, the No. 21 ranked prospect in Texas, averaged 19 points and 8 assists per game last season.
