Don’t look for anything to happen for Jeremy Pargo during the early signing period. The No. 149 ranked player in the Rivals150 is solely focused on preparing for the ACT, which he will not take until December. The 6-foot-2, 175-pound combo guard from Paul Robeson High School in Chicago, Ill., did name four schools.

“Not much is going on right now because I am not qualified,” said Pargo. “I am actually at an ACT prep course tonight. I am just focused on getting ready for the test in December, so I am not thinking about colleges until after I take the test.”
Pargo said some schools have backed off because of his test situation, but others are still showing interest.
“Illinois, DePaul, and Gonzaga, those are the ones calling,” said Pargo, who claims offers from all three schools. “I also got an offer from Florida State recently.”
Although Pargo is far from formulating a school list, he does know what he will be looking for in a school when the time comes to make a decision.
“I want a chance to come in and play,” he said. “I am not looking for a coach to say I’ll start, but I do want to hear that I have a chance to play a lot. I want to earn it. Playing style is also important. I want to run and play fast.”
Pargo feels his Paul Roberson squad has a chance to be one of the best teams in Illinois this year, and he and his teammates are working hard to make that happen.
“I go to the track every afternoon and run a couple miles,” said Pargo. “Then I go to the gym to workout with my teammates. Right now I am working on everything.”
A strong and athletic point guard, Pargo excels at attacking the rim. Best shooting the ball off the dribble, he does shoot it well enough from three to keep the defense honest but could improve in that area. He has the potential to be a tremendous on the ball defender.
Pargo averaged 22 points, 6 assists, and 4 steals per game as a junior.
