Palacios Sits

This past weekend Our Savior New American wrapped up its season with a victory over Redemption Christian Academy. And they did it without its best player -- 2004 prospect Juan Palacios.
The Our Savior coaching staff said that Palacios had dinged up his knee. Palacios, considered a top 20 prospect by many in the basketball world, sat on the bench in street clothes as Our Savior crushed Redemption. After the game, Palacios shot around while the crowd filed out of the Centereach, New York gym. He appeared to be okay in his movements.

Palacios, 6-8, 220-pounds, is highly regarded by high division one programs because has a nice frame and is athletic enough in transition to cause some headaches for his defender. Palacios is a power forward with terrific touch around the basket. He uses his body well to create space for open looks. He has the ability to create space inside with his athletic skills.
Palacios said again this past weekend he remains wide open. "I don't have a leader," he stated. "I will see how the summer goes before I start cutting schools off the list."
Illinois, Villanova, Seton Hall, North Carolina, Pittsburgh, Louisville, Texas, Rutgers, St. John's, Syracuse, Connecticut, and Kentucky have expressed serious interest in Palacios. But there are others that Palacios will likely look at before he makes his decision.
