Pair Of Favorites For Shooting Guard

Marquis Webb, a 6-3 shooting guard/swingman from Paterson Catholic H.S. in Paterson, N.J., told the Insiders Report/Rivalshoops.com that he has a pair of favorites this spring.
Webb said he has been offered scholarships by co-leaders Villanova and Syracuse thus far, and also has an interest in Maryland, UConn, St. John's and Seton Hall.

"Villanova is a great school academically and the basketball program is up and coming," Webb said. "Syracuse has Deshaun Williams, and I am pretty tight with him because I always talk to him."
Williams also attended Paterson Catholic and will be a senior in the fall at the Big East program.
Webb, who had an up and down spring with the Playaz, enjoyed a terrific weekend at the Bob Gibbons Memorial Day Tournament of Champions. However, he and his team were inconsistent this past weekend at the Rumble in the Bronx. Webb's Playaz Gold team did not advance out of pool play and lost two of three games they played.
At the Gibbons tournament, Webb consistently scored in transition and made solid decisions with the basketball as the Playaz Gold squad streaked to the 17 and under National Division title.
Webb said he is still relatively open at this stage, but he does plan on making a late summer decision. He will attend several events in the coming weeks, including the adidas ABCD Camp and the adidas Big Time Tournament.
We will keep you posted on his play and his recruitment in the weeks to come, so stay tuned.
