Pac-10 Schools Eyeing Jordan Wilkes

Jordan Wilkes, the 6-foot-10, 205-pound power forward from Loyola High School in Las Angeles, CA., has clearly established himself as one of the elite players in the class of 2005 and one of the top players in the state of California. The recruiting process started out slow for Wilkes, but because of his performance during his junior year, a number of high major programs have taken notice.
“Pretty much all of the Pac-10 schools are recruiting me,” Wilkes said. “I just talked to Coach Montgomery from Stanford last week, so that’s a school that I am definitely interested in. I have also talked with Coach Romar from Washington and Coach Fisher from San Diego State.”

While Wilkes contends that he is wide-open when it comes to his recruitment, three schools in particular are likely to receive an official visit from the No. 34 ranked player on the Rivals100 list.
“I really haven’t put much thought into my recruitment, but there are a number of schools that I plan to visit,” Wilkes said. “Stanford, Washington and UCLA are the schools I will most likely take official visits to. I plan to take all five visits, so if I have to take an unofficial visit to UCLA, that is something I can do. If for some reason I do not use all five official visits, I will officially visit UCLA.
Wilkes is the son of Jamal Wilkes and the brother of Kansas guard Omar Wilkes. The younger Wilkes will spend the summer running with the California Pump N’ Run organization.
