Pac-10 School Offers 2007 Bayless

Apparently Rivals.com were not the only ones to be impressed by the play of 2007 prospect Jerryd Bayless. The 6-foot-2, 180-pound point guard for the Arizona Magic received an offer from a Pac-10 school after his last game at the Las Vegas Spring Showcase.
“Jerryd received an offer from Arizona after his last game against Belmont Shore,” said Coach Earl Flags of the Arizona Magic. “More than anything, he is flattered, but he is just so young right now. They will definitely be a school that is in the mix when the time comes.”

Assistant Coach Josh Pastner of Arizona was on the baseline wall evaluating Bayless during his last game and during other game during the showcase. Coach Olsen was not present for the Blemont Shore game.
Bayless scored 19 points against an older Shore team with players such as Jamal Boykin, Seketoure Henry, and Brett Hoerner. Bayless attacked the basket fearlessly against the Shore’s big men and knocked down shots from behind the arc.
The physical Bayless loves contact and can defend as well. After Henry hit 6 three pointer in the first half against the Magic, the Magic went to a man-to-man defense, and Bayless locked up Henry, only giving up 2 points in the half court on a wild running hook shot.
Coach Flags also spoke about other schools interest in Bayless.
"Things have really gotten crazy," said Coach Flags. "I just got off the phone with Oklahoma. There is a good chance that Coach Sampson will be at Kingwood to watch him play. Jerryd is wide open, but he would like to hear from schools like UCLA, North Carolina, Duke, Kansas, and Kentucky."
Bayless, who attends St. Mary’s High School in Phoenix, Arizona, is nothing short of a big time talent, and this is only the beginning of a flood of offers for Bayless.
