Oxon Hill Storms Back, Nips Winton Woods

LEWES, Del. -- Oxon Hill overcame a double digit first half deficit and staved off Winton Woods on Friday afternoon, 65-64 in a Tommy Jacobs Memorial tilt at the Slam Dunk to the Beach.
Unsigned senior small forward Chris Williams was once again the prime mover for the Clippers, as he pumped in 26 points on 10 of 22 shooting (4/6 three pointers). Active junior Rashad Nixon added 15 points for the winners.

Trailing for much of the contest, Oxon Hill chipped away at the Winton Woods lead and deadlocked the game at 53 entering the fourth quarter. A low scoring fourth quarter saw the lead see-saw between each club until the Clippers took the lead for good at 62-60 on a Williams' basket down low with 2:20 to play.
Oxon Hill had a chance to put the game away at the line in the final moments, but free throw shooting is one of the Clippers' achilles heels (they shot just 15 of 30 from the stripe in the game).
That allowed Winton Woods several chances to send the contest into overtime, but they missed a series of three pointers in the closing seconds.
Ultra athletic off guard and Miami signee Robert Hite paced Winton Woods with 28 points on eight of 21 shooting and four of six from beyond the arc. Penn State bound DeForrest Riley and C.J. Anderson added 11 points apiece in the loss.
Hite had the crowd at Cape Henlopen H.S. abuzz with his athletic antics in the loss.
