Owls Land Dion Dacons

Dion Dacons, a 6-foot-6, 196-pound small forward from Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson, Virginia, signed with the Atlantic 10's Temple Owls following an official visit to the Philadelphia campus this past week.
Dacons had already visited Rice and Boston University. But Boston University landed Etienne Brower, a player similiar to Dacons.

Dacons previously cancelled a visit to Wyoming. East Carolina, Davidson, and Appalachian State were previously mentioned by Dion.
Dacons averaged 15.8 points and 7.0 rebounds per game as a senior for the 31-4 Warriors. He shot 70.4% from the field -- third best all-time in Oak Hill Academy history.
Dacon has improved his jumper and is a much better all-around player now than he was a year ago. But he scores most of his points in the paint. On a loaded Oak Hill Academy squad, Dacons averaged seven points and six rebounds per game in a reserve role in 2001-2002.
The positives about Dacons are his aggressive play and his relentless pursuit of the basket from the opening tap to the final whistle. Dion loves to get up on the glass, especially on the offensive end. He is also skilled in scoring in transition opportunities. Dion is also an excellent student. Dacons has a 3.6 GPA and scored 1060 on the SAT.
Last season, John Chaney signed Oak Hill Academy's Antywane Robinson, 6-foot-7, 205 pound small forward who started 21 games and averaged 6.2 points and 6.0 rebounds in just under 27 minutes per game.
