Overton thinking about visits

After a successful campaign on the AAU Circuit, Venoy Overton is ready to take the next step forward in his recruitment. The 6-foot-0, 165-pound point guard from Franklin High School in Seattle, Wash., has a number of high-major programs involved in his recruitment at this time. Overton, a three-star prospect, is planning to schedule some official visits in the immediate future.
"USC, Pepperdine, Washington and Arizona are some of the schools that I am hearing from. Those are the schools that I am interested in right now," said Overton. "USC is probably the top school on my list. I am going to schedule an official visit to USC real soon.

"Pepperdine is another school that I might officially visit," he added. "I don't have any in-home visits planned right now, but that is something I will do once I begin to plan and take some official visits."
While it would appear that USC is clearly the team to beat for Overton, who spent the spring and summer AAU Circuit traveling with the Seattle Rotary organization, there is no doubt that the talented point guard is going to consider all of his options before picking a school.
Overton is interested in visiting a couple of schools in the Pac-10, but the three-star prospect is going to take his time with the process in order to get a better feel for where those schools stand on his list
"Washington is a school that I could possibly visit," said Overton. "I go up there all of the time, so I don't think that I would take an official visit to Washington, but a visit is possible. I don't know where Arizona stands right now, but that is a school that I would definitely visit.
"I would really enjoy taking an official visit to Arizona," he added. "I was supposed to take a visit to Arkansas, but I have decided to look in a different direction. I would like to remain close to home and make an impact as a freshman."
After a long but productive summer, Overton is looking forward to some much needed rest and relaxation before schools starts back up in a couple of weeks. However, he spent a few minutes talking about his performance throughout the spring and summer.
"I feel that I had a good summer," he said. "I traveled to Los Angeles and Arizona to play in a couple of tournaments. I played in the Adidas 64 tournament and the Kingwood Classic. I did a good team of leading my team to some good wins.
"I also played against some of the top players," he added. "O.J. Mayo is the best player that I faced this summer. When O.J. and I played against each other, I feel that I did a pretty good job defending and playing against him."
