Our Savior Holds Off Life Center

CENTEREACH, NEW YORK -- Our Savior of Centereach, New York has on its roster some of the finest underclassmen talent in the country. And most of this underclassmen talent comes in size and strength.
But it was a small player that did the most damage and at its most crucial times. Jamar Wilson, headed to play for Albany next season, only stands around 6-0. But it was his key free throws and baskets that helped Our Savior hold off Life Center, 72-65.

Wilson hit several key free throws late in the fourth quarter. There were three ties in the fourth quarter so his points were needed.
Wilson finished the game with 22 points while lefty guard Walter Murray added 15 for the winners.
A brilliant performance was turned in by Massachusetts recruit, Mike Lasme (more on him later on this site). This explosive, athletic guard led all scorers with 30 points.
In fact, Lasme kept this game close in the first half. Our Savior led 33-30 after first 16 minutes of play. It would have been a bigger lead if not for Lasme, who scored 16 points in the first half. Many of these baskets were pretty drives to the basket.
Besides Lasme, junior forward Arnold Dahi had 17 points for Life Center.
This game was played inside the tiny gym of Our Savior. But it was a noisy crowd but a gracious one. Both teams were well represented by their fans.
We will have more on the talent that was on display today later on this site.
