OU, Marquette, Others Look At Craig

Chris Craig, a 6-1, 180 pound sophomore point guard from Arizona Western C.C. in Yuma, Ariz., has several Division I programs courting him this fall.
According to Arizona Western Head Coach Kelly Green, Long Beach State, Butler, Portland and Northern Arizona have expressed heavy fall interest in Craig.

In addition to the four above schools, Marquette and Oklahoma have called on Craig and may keep an eye on him this winter.
N.C. State had come out to evaluate Craig earlier this fall at the ACCAC Jamboree in Scottsdale, Ariz., although Green was not certain if the Wolfpack would remain involved with his floor general this winter.
The Wolfpack has taken a look at several junior college point guards this fall and appear to be honing in on 6-2 Frank Richards of Olney Central C.C. in Illinois. Richards is slated to visit N.C. State this weekend and pick between the Pack and Kansas State as his collegiate destination.
Craig last played competitively two years ago at Arizona Western, where he averaged 10 points and six assists per game in 1999-2000. As a freshman qualifier, he opted to sign with Creighton in the spring of 2000.
However, Craig left Creighton shortly after the start of the 2000-2001 school year and returned to Arizona Western. He sat out last year but should be one of the better pure point guards in the junior college class of 2002.
JUCO Junction/Rivalshoops.com will keep you posted on any changes in Craig's recruitment over the coming weeks and months, so stay tuned!
