OU leads for Miller, but field is about to get crowded

Emanuel Miller, a 6-foot-6 playmaking wing, has Oklahoma in the lead for his services, though the Sooners are likely to have a lot of company soon. The Canadian native is in his first year at powerhouse La Lumiere School in Indianapolis, and he is attracting significant interest.

“The biggest school recruiting me is definitely Oklahoma,” Miller said. “They message me pretty much every single day,” he said. “SMU has been hitting me up, and so has Tulane. Two weeks ago, me and three of my teammates also went to Notre Dame for an unofficial visit.”

Miller, a member of the UPlay Canada travel program and the Canadian junior national program, is not short on upside or versatility.

IN HIS OWN WORDS

Miller touched on his visit to South Bend, as well as SMU and Oklahoma.

Notre Dame: “It was a cool experience going to my first university. I had never been to a university before, so it was a good experience. Their coaches have been messaging me and talking to me. The energy is always there. It just seems like a family there, from the football game to the basketball court, everyone knows one another.”

SMU: “I know about them a lot. Their coach has been messaging me and talking to me a lot, telling me how interested they are in me.”

Oklahoma: “Definitely one of the top schools that I can think of because of how hard they are recruiting me. Coach (Carlin) Hartman does a great job of sending me letters, texting me and just checking up on me 24-7.

“They are just telling me that I would be a great fit for the school because of how versatile I am. He thinks it could be a great fit for me there.”

WHAT'S NEXT

No visits are on the horizon, but a more hectic recruitment is in the cards for Miller. He will try to help La Lumber defend its national championship.

RIVALS REACTION

Miller is the ideal, ultra-versatile wing that can defend three positions, create for others and himself, and also rebound at a high clip.

Oklahoma remains the only power conference program to have offered as the Sooners sit in the driver’s seat for him. However, with more viewings in the coming months, expect for many others to jump in on the talented Canadian.
