Four-star shooting guard Victor Bailey's fourth official visit was the one that did the trick. Tuesday night, Bailey confirmed to Rivals.com that he has committed to Oregon after visiting over the weekend.

A 6-foot-4 shooting guard from Round Rock (Texas) McNeil, Bailey is the first member of the class of 2017 to pick Dana Altman's program and he should be a player that is an exceptional fit in Eugene.

"I went to Texas A&M first and then Tulsa and then Texas Tech and then Oregon last," said Bailey. "With my mom having gone through it and recruiting herself and my dad having gone through it they know all the tricks. They know it.

"They guided me through it and what to look for and what to do. We got back late from the Oregon visit and I wanted a night to sleep on it and a day to think about it and we sat down a second time to go over everything and Oregon was still at the top of the list so we decided to go ahead and pull the trigger and get things going.

Over the years, Altman has done quite well with long, athletic and versatile guards. A guy like Bailey fits all of those things and he is a natural fit for the pressing style that the Ducks like to use.

Offensively, Bailey has considerable upside. He's always been very athletic, but has at times relied too much on his athleticism. Over the past six months he's significantly improved his jump shooting, his mid range game and his overall decision making. As he fills out and continues to improve his skill he has the type of tools to far outplay his current No. 94 ranking in the 2017 Rivals150.

Another thing to consider with Bailey is that he has grown up with and learned from highly successful athletes his entire life. His mother Tonja Buford-Bailey is a three-time Olympic sprinter and a track coach at Texas while his father Victor played multiple seasons in the NFL.

"I think my parents have instilled a crazy work ethic in me. Coach Altman told me that if I want to work hard that this is the place for me. I'm really looking forward to going in there and working my tail off and winning some games."
