Options increasing for Jemison

High-major interest in Demetrius Jemison is picking up as the late signing period nears. According to Jemison's AAU coach Norm Williams of the Southeast Elite, Jemison, a 6-foot-6, 225-pound combo forward from Huffman High School in Birmingham, Ala., has three high-major offers along with a couple mid-major offers.
"Demetrius has offers from Virginia, Iowa State, Baylor, Murray State and Tennessee Tech," said Coach Williams. "Texas A&M plans to watch him play soon."

Playing in college next year is not the only option for Jemison as he is also considering a year of prep school.
"Demetrius plans to sit down at the end of the season and weigh his options," said Williams. "A year of prep school is still a possibility. He wouldn't mind another year to work on his game."
Jemison, the No. 149 ranked prospect in the Rivals150, is averaging 16 points, 8 rebounds and 3 blocks per game this season. He is a very tough match up in the low post with his ability to carve out space with his wide body. Able to defend both forward positions, Jemison does need to improve his effectiveness offensively on the perimeter.
"Demetrius is a blue collar player, who comes to play day in and day out," said Williams. "He'll be an asset to any team because of his toughness.
"He does need to expand his game a little more and improve his jumper and continue to be more consistent."
