One Step Closer To NBA

It's become very clear this summer that Charlie Villanueva, a 6-10, 215 pound power/combination forward from Blair Academy in Blairstown, N.J., is one of the top five players in the 2003 class. He is a big man with great skills. He is likely to play the three slot on the college level. If he chooses to do so soon, Charlie can play that same position in the NBA. "I think the summer definitely helped me toward the NBA," Villanueva said. "But I am still focusing on college."
Villanueva is saying all the right things regarding his recruiting process. "I am still interested in Villanova, Illinois, Seton Hall, and Connecticut," Charlie said. "But I am no longer considering St. John's and UCLA."

Villanueva will officially visit Illinois in late September (possibly the weekend of the 23rd), and is also planning to take a fall trip to Villanova.
"I don't have a leader right now, all the schools are about even," Villanueva said. "But I do want to take my visits and then make a decision."
Then the big decision on going to the NBA will take place in the Spring? "Yes," Villanueva said. "I am not ready to make that decision yet."
It may have already been made for him after his great summer.
