One official left for 5-star Blakeney

A number of prospects had strong performances at the Breast Cancer Awareness Classic in Orlando. One of them was uncommitted five-star shooting guard Antonio Blakeney of Orlando Oak Ridge High School.

"I feel like we have a very good team this year," said Blakeney. "Everyone has the same goal, everyone wants to win."
Oak Ridge, ranked No. 24 in the nation in the USA Today preseason poll, went 0-2 in the BCAC. Athletic and competitive, Blakeney scored 60 points in the two games, highlighted by a 47-point performance in a double overtime loss Saturday night. He was also a factor on the defensive end of the floor.
Blakeney has used all but one of his five official visits and talked about what is appealing to him about the three schools he recently visited and what his future visit plans are
Kentucky: "Just what they do. They get their players to the NBA. So that's real appealing to me. They always win, it's a winning program and it's a player's program."
Did his friend, Isaiah Briscoe, signing with Kentucky give the Wildcats an advantage?
"Not really," Blakeney said. "He made the best decision for him and I have to make the best decision for me. But that's a good friend of mine, and if we end up playing together that would be good."
LSU: "I really like their style of play. I like their coach; he's a hands-on coach with all the players. Coach Johnny Jones is really like a father figure to all his players. I really like that a lot. Also they have Ben (Simmons) coming in, so it's something to think about. Maybe we could go in there and might be able to change the culture of things; you know it's a football school so that's just something to think about with that school."
Missouri: "Pretty much the same thing, it's a football school, so it's something to think about changing the culture. I have a real good relationship with coach Tim Fuller and with Coach (Kim) Anderson as well. But my relationship is real, real good with Coach Fuller, and I trust that he can develop me and get me better. I like some of the things they've done with their guards like Jordan Clark, Kim English and Phil Pressley."
The No. 13 ranked player in the Rivals150 plans to use his final official visit but hasn't decided when or where he'll use it.
"Yes I'm going to use that last visit," Blakeney said with certainty. "It will either be to N.C. State, North Carolina or Oregon. I will try to take an unofficial visit to those schools as well. I'm going to try to visit them all if I can."
North Carolina State head coach Mark Gottfried was in Orlando watching Blakeney play Saturday night.
With his list down to six schools and his decision likely coming sometime this spring, Blakeney said there's been no let up on the communication with college coaches.
"I talk to a school almost every day," said Blakeney. "From one of those schools I'm talking to a college almost every day of the week so it's often, Real often."
Known as a "football state," the basketball talent level in Florida has been on the rise for some time. Most observers, and some players, believe that from top to bottom the 2015 class is the strongest class in Florida in more than 10 years. Not surprisingly Blakeney, the No. 2 ranked player in the state, agrees.
"I think there's a lot of great players in Florida," Blakeney said. "There are a lot of great high school teams and AAU teams. There is a lot of good stuff going on in Florida with basketball. Basketball in Florida is big and it's getting bigger. If you come to Florida, you can find good basketball anywhere."
