One of 2005s best forwards SEC-bound

Forward Korvotney Barber is expected to announce that he has committed to Coach Jeff Lebo’s Auburn basketball program during a Monday press conference, according to a source close to the Barber family in Manchester, Ga.
The 6-foot-7, 230-pound Barber visited Georgia during the Sept. 3 weekend and Auburn on the Oct. 8 weekend, then surprised Kentucky Coach Tubby Smith by abruptly canceling his visit to Lexington for the Wildcats’ Midnight Madness opening to practice.

Barber had been believed to be leaning toward signing with Kentucky.
I believe that Barber is the “true” sleeper in the national Class of 2005 since no one had a chance to see him in the major evaluation camps and tournaments during July after he suffered a broken wrist during his standout performance at the NBA Players Association Top 100 Camp in Richmond, Va., in June.
I have rated him as the No. 8 overall prospect in the Class of 2005 and the No. 3 power forward behind Josh McRoberts (Carmel, Ind.) and Tyler Hansbrough (Poplar Bluff, Mo.).
He will be the fourth player to commit to Lebo and the Tigers, joining forward Joey Cameron (Leeds, Ala.) and guards Rasheem Barrett (Stone Mountain, Ga.) and Jarvis Hill (Birmingham, Ala.).
This is my first report for Rivals.com and it’s great to be a part of a great network!
