Omar Wilkes Interested In Five Schools

After transferring from the University of Kansas at the end of the semester, Omar Wilkes is looking for a new school to call home. The 6-foot-4, 183-pound combo guard from Los Angeles, Calif., is currently interested in five programs, but has just two official visits left to take. Wilkes made it clear that he plans to stay close to home this time around.
“I have not taken any official visits yet,” Wilkes said. “I am interested in Stanford, California, USC, Washington and UCLA. I really like the first four schools a lot, but UCLA is in there a little as well. I hope to have a decision made within the next two weeks.”

Wilkes indicated that he has just two official visits remaining. He has already officially visited California and UCLA, but its not yet know what schools will receive the last two visits.
“I really don’t know what schools I plan to visit just yet,” Wilkes said. “I have already filled out all my paperwork and sent it to Stanford, so I’m waiting to hear back from them. I had to get some recommendations from teachers and academics advisors. I also had to write several essays, which was not that bad once I got started.
“All I know for sure is that I plan to stay close to home this time,” he added. “I really had a great time at Kansas, but I just needed to be closer to home. I should have a decision about my future in the next two weeks. It’s a decision that needs to be made as soon as possible.”
