Oliver having a breakout season

If Modesto Christian (Calif.) is to repeat as Division V state champs, it will be on the back of Adrian Oliver. The 6-foot-4, 185-pound junior, drawing from the momentum of a successful summer campaign, is putting up impressive numbers thus far this season and drawing attention from college coaches from across the country.
Oliver is averaging a double-double on the season with 26.6 points and 12.5 rebounds per game, all while playing top-notch competition.

He recorded his career-high of 41 points earlier this month against Castlemont of Oakland and had a 32 point, 17 rebound effort against Skyline in Modesto Christian's own Holiday Hoop Classic. He has a total of six games so far this season in which he scored 30 or more points.
According to Oliver, the schools showing early interest include North Carolina, Oklahoma St., Kentucky, Cal, Oregon St., Marquette, Pittsburg, San Francisco, Pepperdine, and Nevada. Nevada, Cal, USF, and San Diego St. have all attended Modesto Christian games this year.
Not blessed with exceptional athletic ability, Adrian can play both guard positions and is capable of scoring from just about anywhere on the floor, including from deep three. He is also an excellent rebounder from the guard position.
Adrian cites playing time among other criteria as important factors in which school he will attend.
"I will go where I can fit in and play right away," said Oliver. "I want to go to a system that fits my style of play."
Does he have any early favorites?
"I will wait to the summer, but for right now, no," said Oliver.
