Oklahoma State kicks off 2018 with Antwann Jones

Oklahoma State made its first strike in the 2018 class on Sunday with the commitment of Antwann Jones. A 6-foot-5 scoring guard and member of the Rivals150, Jones is a four-star recruit that can be leaned upon for his versatile scoring abilities from 20-feet and in.

Selecting Oklahoma State over a final four that included Kansas, NC State and Memphis, Jones brings great size to the backcourt along with a heavy scoring punch.

Suiting up for the Each 1 Teach 1 program on the Nike EYBL circuit this summer, Jones averaged over 10 points, three rebounds and two assists per game, while showing that he could step up on the biggest of stages.

With the need to replace Kendall Smith, Tavarius Shine and Jeffrey Carroll on the perimeter after this season, the pick-up of Antwann Jones could not have come at a better time for first year head coach Mike Boynton. Jones is an underrated playmaker that can distribute whenever the opportunity is provided, though he is best placed in a scoring capacity.

The first commitment in the 2018 class for the Cowboys, it is now the third straight year that Oklahoma State has dipped into the state of Florida for a pledge.

OK State will remain in the hunt this fall for one or two other additions as they have made the final lists for top-50 seniors Elijah Weaver and David McCormack.
