Almost two months after taking his official visit to Stillwater, Joe Burton the nation's No. 89 player in the Rivals150 committed to the Cowboys.
The 6-foot-6 wing from Humble (Texas) Atascocita's commitment was confirmed to Rivals.com by his father Pat and it he adds to a terrific haul.
Known his entire career as a slasher and somebody who got buckets using his strength and ability to bounce off defenders in transition, Burton really elevated his game during the summer of 2013.
Playing with the Houston Defenders on the travel circuit, Burton showed much more polish in his game than before. He stroked jumpers with confidence from deep. He attacked the rim off the dribble and he always seemed to be playing under complete control.
Mixing a tough and efficient wing scorer like Burton into the mix gives Oklahoma State a very well rounded group. Four-star shooting guard Jared Terrell is a power guard and high end defender. Local four-star big man Mitchell Solomon is a scorer with strength and skill while three-star juco transfer Jeff Newberry brings experience and the ability to play either guard spot to the table.
