Oklahoma snares high-scoring guard

Once they saw Buddy Hield play during July, Oklahoma wasted little time making him a priority.
Sunday night, the 6-foot-3 shooting guard from Bel Aire (Kan.) Sunrise Christian committed to the Sooners after visiting Norman over the weekend.

"I think Buddy just feels really comfortable with them," said Sunrise coach Kyle Lindstead. "He knows that coach Kruger is going to be there for a while and that they are going to rebuild."
An athletic two guard who is proficient in creating his own shot, Hield took the summer circuit by storm during the month of July.
He's got a somewhat unorthodox release on his shot, but his range can't be questioned and he's always in attack mode. During July, he went for several big games against teams with big reputations.
Currently ranked No. 94 nationally in the class of 2012 Rivals150, Hield plays with a chip on his shoulder that he's sure to take with him to Oklahoma.
"Buddy really likes that it's in the Big 12," said Lindstead. "He wants to compete against the big boys and show them that he can play at a high level too."
