Oklahoma nabs junior college big man

Ever since Robert Goff started off his junior college days at Cowley County Community College in Arkansas City, Kan., Jeff Capel has been right there watching. That work paid off on Sunday night when Goff picked Capel's Sooners.
Now at Hutchinson (Kan.) Community College after following head coach Steve Eck from Cowley, Goff has emerged as one of the premier junior college players in the country.

He's 6-foot-8, strong, explosive at the rim and he's quite comfortable with Jeff Capel and his staff.
"I know that he's always liked Coach Capel," Hutchinson coach Steve Eck told Rivals.com. "He's seen him for the last three years since he was at Cowley County. I know Robert's always liked OU and coach Capel, he's always told me that. I think the main thing is he felt comfortable with them."
Thought of as more of a defensive presence and strong rebounder out of Indianapolis' Broad Ripple High School, Goff has developed his game since his high school days.
"He's vastly improved offensive wise, he's gotten a lot better," said Eck. "He's always been pretty good defensively. I know he's hoping to go in there and help them right off the bat."
Goff chose the Sooners over finalists Ohio State, Indiana and Wichita State.
