In addition to Reno, Houston, Oregon State, Illinois-Chicago, Siena and Stephen F. Austin had expressed interest in Okeson this past spring.
"Coach Johnson and his staff did a great job of recruiting Todd and he felt very comfortable there," Hoberecht said. "He believes that he can really help them over the next couple of years."
Okeson averaged 14.6 points and four assists per game this season, and shot 50 percent from beyond the arc in conference play as the Conquistadors finished second in the Jayhawk West.
Okeson is a native of Weskan, Kan.
