Andy Ogide was ready to ink with the University of Virginia when the late signing period came around but the National Letter of Intent never came. The 6-foot-8, 215-pound power forward is now looking at other options in the spring time as an unsigned 2006 prospect.

Ogide, a three-star prospect, committed to Virginia in the fall but didn't sign with the ACC school. According to Ogide, UVa wanted to send him to a prep school and be re-recruited or redshirt him next school year. But Ogide saw things differently.
"The way I looked at it, I was good enough to commit to them before the season so what was the difference now?" Ogide said.
Now uncommitted and unsigned, Ogide is re-thinking the recruiting process. A number of schools have already inquired and have made some in roads with the bouncy forward.
Ogide's sister Emy is a sophomore on Cincinnati's women's basketball team. She talked to former Cincinnati coach Andy Kennedy about her brother and thus put the two together when Kennedy took the Ole Miss job. Ogide and his mother visited the Oxford campus over the weekend.
"It was pretty good. I liked it but my mom wants me to take another visit," Ogide said. "The people were really nice and the campus was nice but I want to see some other places.
"Tulane wants me to visit but I want to play in the ACC or SEC. I want to stay down South for school. The Georgia coaches said they wanted to see me play at Kingwood because coach (Dennis) Felton hasn't seen me play before. So I'm thinking about that. Vanderbilt is probably coming out on Friday (to Georgia) to see me at the school. I don't know what I'm going to do."
Ogide said Florida State is also interested but doesn't have a scholarship to give at this point.
With all of the confusion in the last couple of weeks, Ogide said he doesn't want to rush into a decision.
"I'm going to have to really think things through a lot more before I make a decision," he said. "I'm going to look at everything."
