Ofori-Attah: Off the Board

After exploring several options, German native Edwin Ofori-Attah has made a verbal commitment according to Coach John Jordan of Statesville Christian (N.C.) High School. The athletic 6-foot-4, 205-pound combo guard is excited about playing for a school that has wanted him all along.
“Edwin made a commitment today to William & Mary,” said Coach Jordan. “It came down to La Salle, South Carolina, and William & Mary.”

“The South Carolina situation was such that they didn’t really have one open, and he didn’t want to gamble on that situation.”
Ofori-Attah went ahead and pulled the trigger even though DePaul and Tennessee were showing significant interest in him.
“He had late interest from DePaul and Tennessee, but he knew he was their second or third choice,” said Coach Jordan. “He wanted to go where he was someone’s first choice.”
William & Mary was the one school that has recruited Ofori-Attah from the beginning and been there every step of the way.
“William & Mary did a great job recruiting Edwin,” said Coach Jordan. “They were at everything he has done.”
Ofori-Attah, who set the single game scoring record for the state of North Carolina with 71 points, should make an instant impact for William & Mary.
