Offers rolling in for Leuer
Pure shooters at 6-foot-10 are difficult to find, but a lot of schools have found one in Jon Leuer. The Orono (Minn.) High School forward was quite impressive at the Reebok ABCD Camp.
Here is a statistical breakdown of Leuer at the camp. He averaged 9.3 points, 4.0 rebounds, 0.6 assists, 0.9 turnovers, 0.3 steals, 0.7 blocks. From the field he shot 50 percent, and from behind the arc he shot 41.7 percent, averaging 1.4 makes out of 3.4 attempts per game.

Going into the ABCD Camp, Leuer had offers from Iowa State and Washington State and strong interest from Kansas and Minnesota, who are both short on scholarships for 2007. Coming out of the ABCD Camp, Leuer now has high-major offers from Iowa, Indiana, Oklahoma State, West Virginia, Arizona State and DePaul. Louisville, Wake Forest, Notre Dame and Florida State are also now tracking him.
While more and more schools are focused on Leuer, he is waiting till after his July AAU ball before he turns his focus towards his recruitment.
"At the end of July, I'll start figuring out who I am interested in and who I want to visit," said Leuer, who runs with the Minnesota Magic. "Right now I'm focused on playing at the Big Time in Vegas."
Jon Leuer scouting report:
At 6-foot-10, 200-pounds, Leuer definitely needs some time to fill out his frame for high-major competition. Nonetheless, he is a pure shooter with good overall skills with the ball. He can knock down a jump hook and can play off the dribble. He moves well up and down the court, but has a ways to go defensively and as a rebounder. Could be an impact player with his unique skill set at his size if he does get stronger.
