Offers roll in for 4-star Caldwell

RANKINGS: 2015 - 2016 - 2017
Playing with the Houston Defenders this summer, Cypress (Texas) Woods point guard J.J. Caldwell emerged as one of the better point guards in class of 2016. Houston, Kansas State, Oklahoma and Tulsa saw enough out of him to extend scholarship offers, and he just received another one earlier this week.

"I just got an offer from Wichita State the other day," Caldwell told Rivals.com. "Miami came to my school a couple days ago. Louisville, Villanova and USC have started recruiting me lately, too."
Caldwell, now a four-star prospect in the 2016 Rivals150, says style of play is what stands out about the Shockers.
"I really like watching them play," Caldwell said. "They have a lot of guys that can make plays, but they also play as a team. I really like the way they play, their style and tempo."
Texas A&M has been hot with in-state kids in the 2015 class, and that's not lost on Caldwell. He recently visited College Station for a football game.
"They are recruiting me pretty hard. Coach [Rick] Stansbury has been talking to me. The campus is nice. I feel like they are on the come-up now. They have four good players coming in next year. They are getting better. They have a good program and good coaching staff."
Houston has also had Caldwell on campus this fall to see practice.
"Coach [Kelvin] Sampson just came in. He's a good coach, obviously. They have a lot of people on their team that are really athletic. I went to watch them practice one time and they had a lot of guys that can get to the basket and score."
Oklahoma has made Caldwell a priority in the 2016 class. They will likely be the next school to have him on campus for an unofficial visit.
"They are probably recruiting me the hardest along with Kansas State. I love their coaching staff. They have some of the best coaches. They play with the tempo too. They have big men that can play, but they also have guards. I like Oklahoma. I'm taking a visit there sometime soon."
Kansas State stopped by Caldwell's school earlier this week.
"I like Coach [Alvin] Brooks. He actually came to my school on Monday to go over academic stuff, how it would be if I went there, and went over what they run. We had a good discussion."
Caldwell says all schools recruiting him are even at the moment and he doesn't plan on deciding any time soon.
"I talked to my parents and some of my teammates about it. They told me it's best to commit in a few weeks into school as a senior and get over it with before basketball season starts and get all of that out off your mind. I'm looking for a school that fits my game."
