Offers coming in for Pane

The No. 90 ranked prospect in the class of 2007 Brockeith Pane is turning out to be one of the most sought after Texas backcourt players. Pane, a 6-foot-2, 195-pound point guard from Carter High School in Dallas, Texas, already has four offers on the table.
"Illinois, New Mexico State, UNLV and Texas Tech have offered scholarships," said Pane. "I'm interested in those schools and also Arizona State, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Tulane, Tulsa and Baylor. No one stands out yet as a leader, and also, I'm not limited to just these schools."

Although he does not have a favorite, Pane did take a recent unofficial visit to Oklahoma State for Midnight Madness.
"I had a very good time on the visit," he said. "I liked the small town atmosphere. It's a great college town."
Quite different than most other top recruits, Pane is not looking for offensive freedom or a fast style of play in college. Instead he is seeking discipline and an emphasis on defense.
"I'm looking to play early and looking for a coach to push me to work hard," he said. "I also want to play in a program that stresses hard nosed defense."
A physical point guard who thrives on getting into the lane and controlling the ball defensively, Pane is focused on improving his mental game.
"I'm working to become a better decision maker with the ball," he said. "I'm also trying to increase my overall knowledge of the game."
As a sophomore, Pane averaged 10 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists.
