Offers Coming in for Delk Twins

Things have really heated up for the Delk twins from Jackson Northside (Tenn.) after their impressive state tournament performances. Reginald Delk, 6-foot-4, 170-pounds, and Richard Delk, 6-foot-5, 175-pounds, have had a whirlwind of coaches come through Jackson this week and a couple high major coaches extended offers to both Delks.
The Delks’ coach Jeremy Shulman of the Midstate Ballerz listed Florida, North Carolina State, Arkansas, Ole Miss, and Tennessee as the schools that have watched the Delks workout this week.

“On Monday Coach Sendek, Coach Donovan, and an assistant coach from Arkansas came in to watch them workout,” said Coach Shulman. “Ole Miss was in yesterday, and Buzz [Petterson] is in there today.”
As of now, the Delks, who plan to play together in college, have offers from Florida, N.C. State, UAB, Murray State, and UT-Martin, but others are soon to come.
“Arkansas coach called me Monday, and they are very interested,” said Coach Shulman. “They are really close to offering as are Mississippi State, Louisville, and Tennessee.”
As to whom the Delk twins favor, Coach Shulman pointed out the attraction of a fast paced style of play to the guard tandem.
“They are just feeling things out right now, but you would have to put in their top five the five schools that offered,” said Coach Shulman. “They want to see where they will fit in best. They really like Florida because of their up tempo style of play as well as Arkansas. They like UT because it is an in-state school. They like UAB for their up tempo style. They don’t really know a lot about N.C. State right now.”
The Midstate Ballerz will get their first taste of top competition when they play in the Tennessee Travelers’ event this next weekend. They are scheduled to play the Alabama Challenge, the Alabama Lasers, and the Tennessee Travelers. The following weekend they will be at the Kingwood Classic.
