Oak Hill center coming along

Like many young big men, junior center Rodney Miller is far from a finished and polished product. However, the four-star prospect is on the right track.

For two years, the 6-foot-11 center who ranks No. 65 overall in the class of 2016 has been playing at mighty Mouth of Wilson (Va.) Oak Hill. Miller feels that the move has been great for his game and confidence.
"It's a great learning experience playing on a national scale," Miller told Rivals.com. "Being over here at Oak Hill has taught me so much and really developed my game."
Perhaps most notably, Miller has really gotten into shape, learned to the run the floor and started to add strength to his frame.
"It's helped greatly," said Miller of his conditioning. "Playing at this national level your strength needs to be top notch. At Oak Hill we have one of the best trainers in the world and it's been great for me."
Because Oak Hill is usually loaded, Miller doesn't play as many minutes as he might at other spots. However, he feels that the minutes he gets are of the quality variety and that he is improving while focusing on team goals.
"I feel like with this team I'm focused on winning a championship," said Miller. "I have to give up some minutes sometimes but my length, ability to run the floor and finish with my right or left hand are strengths. I'm working on my mid range and using it more on the court."
On the recruiting front, Miller has picked up offers from Connecticut, Tulsa and Georgia Tech while others like Wake Forest, St. John's, Notre Dame, Stanford, Tennessee, Virginia and many more are keeping tabs.
For now, though, Miller's focus is on personal improvement. Once the season is over he'll start to get more serious about his recruitment with an eye towards deciding as a senior.
"After this season is over I'm going to start focusing more on my recruiting," said Miller. "Maybe I'll take some visits and then my senior year I'll be able to focus on a top five.
