O.J. Sumter Has High D-1 Interest

O.J. Sumter, a rugged 6-6, 230 pound combination forward from Palm Beach C.C. in Palm Beach, Fla., has had several schools watch him play this winter.
Despite the growing interest, O.J. is still open in his recruiting process. Ohio State is one school that has picked up the pace in recruiting him and the Buckeyes are also personally evaluating his talents. Ohio State has not yet offered a scholarship.

Palm Beach Head Coach Steve Bernath previously told JUCO Junction/Rivalshoops.com that Pittsburgh, Rutgers, St. John's and West Virginia have all come by to take a look at Sumter this fall.
However, it's important to note that none of those programs have offered scholarships to Sumter thus far. Bernath said that Florida A&M, Central Florida and Florida Atlantic have offered scholarships to Sumter.
An unorthodox player, Sumter has a knack for scoring both inside and out. He has a burly frame which suggests that he might be an inside player, but can shoot it reliable out to midrange.
Sumter is expected to sign in the spring, and JUCO Junction will keep you posted on his recruitment in the coming weeks.
