Nwankwo Will Decide In April

Davis Nwankwo, the 6-foot-9, 236-pound power forward from Georgetown Prep in College Park, MD., is nearing the final stages of his recruitment. While several new schools have become involved in his recruitment throughout the past few months, it appears that Nwankwo has his heart set on playing for the Arizona Wildcats.
“Davis is planning to have a decision by the first day of the late signing period in April,” Georgetown Prep head coach Dwayne Bryant said. “He is still hoping to play for Coach Olson and Arizona. I know that is where his heart is. If the situation at Arizona doesn’t work, Princeton and Northwestern have expressed a great deal of interest in Davis.”

With Stanford no longer involved in Nwankwo’s recruitment, there is no doubt that Arizona is the school to beat. Nwankwo was all set to sign with the Wildcats during the early signing period, but his parents asked that he wait until the end of the season before making a final decision.
“Davis has a scholarship offer on the table from Arizona, but I think he just wants to make sure the situation is right for him,” Coach Bryant said. “There is still a chance that he could take another visit to a school like Princeton or Northwestern, but that decision hasn’t been made.”
Rivals.com ranks Nwankwo No. 66 on the Rivals150 list.
