Numerous schools tracking Johnson

A number of schools are in hot pursuit of Marques Johnson, the No. 77 ranked player in the class of 2006. The 6-foot-5, 200-pound shooting guard plays an integral role for Snider High School in Fort Wayne, Ind., and quite a few schools have been tracking him this year.
Coach Ryan Sims of Snider High School mentioned Georgetown, Illinois, Notre Dame, Purdue, Western Michigan, Oklahoma, Indiana and Iowa as schools that have watched Johnson this year.

Johnson, who is averaging 20 points and 6 rebounds per game on 55 percent shooting from the field and 40 percent shooting from behind the arc, is beginning to heat up and share the ball according to Coach Sims.
"Marques is really starting to get in a groove," said Sims. "He is learning to involve his teammates and is shooting the ball really well for us."
With very good size for a combo guard, Johnson displayed a solid skill set while playing this summer for Blessed IJN. Not very quick or fast, Johnson has a steady handle and knows how to muscle his way into the lane. More of a shooting guard with a good handle, Johnson will be able to do spot duty at the point on the next level. Defensively, he is best suited to guard the shooting guard position.
