Northwestern nabs first from 2015

THE RIVALS150: Class of 2014 - Class of 2015
One of the first goals for Chris Collins at Northwestern was to make the program more attractive to locals. The first year coach is certainly in the process of doing that.

After an up and down year where Northwestern showed plenty of promise and hauled in an excellent 2014 recruiting class, Collins and his staff got to work on the class of 2015. Wednesday night, they landed their first recruit from the junior class and he's a local.
During a press conference at Westchester (Ill.) St. Joseph's, 6-foot-2 combo guard Jordan Ash announced that he will play for Collins and his staff in college.
Currently rated as a three-star prospect, Ash is an athletic guard who loves to attack from the wing.
In particular, Ash is very strong attacking along either baseline. He is a high end athlete who can get out and finish in transition, knocks down enough jumpers to keep defenders honest and has the tools to be an outstanding perimeter defender who can lock up point or shooting guards.
A fundamentally sound player, Ash is also important because he is the first player to commit to Collins from two key local programs. St. Joseph's has been a longtime producer of high major basketball talent and Ash's club team the Illinois Wolves also produce high end talent on a yearly basis.
